The friends that I have made at Hockaday compare to no where else. I always know that I can trust them, and, most importantly, make me laugh. Lastly, I know that after graduating that I will feel prepared to take on the world with both its exciting adventures and challenges with confidence after the Hockaday education I have received on lessons for in and outside of the classroom. Hockaday can at times be challenging but cultivates an inclusive, supportive, and positive community that I am proud to be a part of.
NCS is a great place to learn and thrive. Although it is incredibly challenging and the workload is sometimes tough to manage, the teachers prepare you to be able to take on anything.
When alum come back to visit, they often tell students how much easier college is, even if they attended an Ivy League. I am so lucky to be at this school! Marlborough is the perfect school for ambitious, outspoken, and passionate girls. It is quite challenging academically, but there is freedom to tailor your schedule if you are more interested in certain subjects over others.
Marlborough also offers many interesting course electives so that each student is able to find at least one class that they are passionate about. The teachers are amazing: Lastly, although occasionally frustrating, Marlborough's all-girls environment is truly conducive to learning and allows for a greater sense of community and camaraderie among students.
Though Chapin is a diverse and open community and has progressed to take more active stands social justice issues over the years, there is always room to improve.
I think we need to focus more on action in our community. I have been thinking about this for some time, and I think Chapin should hold its own high-school wide diversity conference during a town hall meeting slot in which we would simulate some of the same discussions and activities from the Student Diversity Leadership Conference for all of us to experience.
I think that, if that meeting were successful, it would be eye-opening to then include other inter-school students in this discussion, and host our own Diversity day. Also, as an individual I will of course continue to try to make our community as safe a space as possible both by voicing my own experiences and also, as an ally to other marginalized groups, by giving space for others to use their own voices.
Looking back on my time at Holton, I am very grateful for the academic education and supportive teachers and staff. The school offers many great opportunities to get involved. I was well-prepared for college. Holton's all-girls education really prepares you to speak up in college classes. However, my social experience there was sub-par.
Many, if not most of the girls there, are spoiled and come from wealthy homes. The cattiness and exclusivity never stopped up until graduation. I saw this everywhere. Across grades, groups of friends, and even among parents to be honest. Overall a great school, but I think the school needs to intervene to make the Holton experience more inclusive and enjoyable for everyone.
Greenwich Academy is an amazing institution to send your daughter to school. Although I only experienced the high school, I've heard endless praises for the middle and lower schools. The teachers at Greenwich Academy are amazing. They are always willing to help with anything you may need. They are an amazing resource for students in need of an extension, an explanation for a confusing topic, and anything else. Also, Greenwich Academy has wonderful resources in every department for every student.
There are many unique classes that you wouldn't be able to take at other schools or until college. There are also many career resources and financial aid resources, as well as many others. Overall, Greenwich Academy has been a wonderful place to go to school with all the resources and support I could hope for.
Emma Willard has a rigorous academic program that gave me plenty of opportunities to develop as a student and a person. There are plenty of resources on campus for academic help, whether it be through student tutors or the teachers themselves, who are often available during study hall. The students I learn alongside are some of the most intelligent, and have pushed me to become the best I am today.
The student body's awareness of social justice issues is also remarkable. In response, Emma has held events and discussions revolving around these issues, resulting in profound and rewarding conversations that I am grateful for. I will say the lack of diversity in faculty is somewhat disappointing, considering the wide range of diversity among students. Additionally, the dining options have become redundant, having been a boarder for a few years here.
Overall, Emma Willard provides students with many fantastic opportunities—so long as you're willing to take advantage of them. When I picture my "happy place," Madeira is it! I credit the school with shaping me into the woman I am today. I was able to be the truest version of myself while I attended Madeira. I was challenged academically, but in an environment where I felt comfortable to excel.
The friends I made at Madeira have been lifelong friends--some were even bridesmaids in my wedding. The co-curriculum experience is also monumental. The internships I had as a junior and senior in high school shaped my college studies and eventual career path. If I had a daughter, without a shadow of a doubt, she would be a Madeira girl. My daughter began Baldwin in the PreK, and is currently in 7th grade.
This school has been such an incredibly warm community for our family, and a profoundly engaging academic experience for our daughter. Her teachers encourage her to go beyond homework guidelines, when she shows extra interest in a subject, and are so helpful to her if she struggles with a concept. I couldn't imagine her any place but Baldwin.
It's an exceptional school, and a very special community! I attended Kent Place School from 2nd grade up until I graduated! When I was enrolled as a student, I strongly disliked the all-girls aspect of the school, however, now as an alumna, I believe that it served as quite a benefit.
I was able to focus exclusively on academics and was not distracted by the need to impress boys because they weren't present! As a result, my reading comprehension, writing, mathematics, and foreign language skills were strengthened and I truly learned the value of a quality education.
I absolutely loved my teachers and they were always open to helping me outside of class. Regarding some of the more negative aspects, I believe that the price tag on this school is a bit high.
In addition, I felt there was a sense of competitiveness among my class due to the fact that there were such small class sizes and I disliked the pettiness that circulated the halls. Overall, however, Kent Place is a great school with very high quality education. It is truly a one of a kind experience to be apart of the class of ! The people here are supportive, ambitious, and joyful!
I am a fan of all girls education. Ever since I got here, I have been more focused on my education and I became much more confident about myself. At Archer, I found what I am truly passionate about and what I want to do in life. Brearley School is wonderful K school which has a diverse community. The school has a terrific financial aid policy and helps support all each girl's endeavors.
The teachers here are incredible. The curriculum is well thought out and the faculty does an excellent job of working closely with each and every student. Every family who comes here feels very welcome in the Brearley community. The school prepares students exceptionally well for college. The school is one of the safest out there, excellent security.
There are many clubs and activities for the students to get involved in. Academics are top notch and the girls who come here have fun while learning! In general, I love the school. Most teachers are really great and they put their heart into teaching. Now for that brutal hour wait…. How much does cost?
